First let me say thank you to those who responded so positively to my post yesterday. I know there were some typos, I left some words out, sentences might not have been completed but that happens when your passionate about something. Now with that being said, I want to congratulate my country on being excited about this election and taking a stand for change, no matter who you voted for. Now, we have some work to do. We need to stop being mean, stop being certified assholes and be human. I applaud those states that have passed same sex laws. According to the show strange love, people can marry inanimate objects but not a loving caring human-being. If your love for a same sex partner doesn’t stop my lights from being turned off I honestly don’t give a damn. If the sanctity of marriage is to love one another holistically, be there for your partner raise children to be productive citizens, I don’t give a damn who you do it with. If smoking weed makes your migraines go away, or prevents nausea from your chemo treatments, I don’t give a damn. Also if your continue to disrespect OUR, not just the blacks, the women, the Latinos, the poor, the disenfranchised, but OUR president, I don’t give a damn! Why? Because he’s not done yet and he has another 4 years to make it better. I will not remove any friends from my FB, twitter, IG or tumblr page bc of racism. I want you be able to view my rants, see my comments, and most importantly be reminded that after all your efforts and rude and obnoxious commentary, you lost and not just the election, my respect.

As a political scientist by education, political junkie by hobby and American by birth I’m sadden by the blatant disregard for decency and respect shown throughout this election campaign. While I will not choose sides as to who did what i will say that at no point throughout our history has a president been more disrespected, insulted and/or blamed for every thing from an ant being stepped on to that which is wrong in America. Please understand, The president didn’t send jobs overseas, companies did. They individually made a choice based off profits. Yes the tax structure could have prevented the outsourcing but THE company made the choice, not the president. It is NOT the presidents responsibility to spoon feed us, at some point get of your ass and do for yourself. Be the change you want, don’t wait for someone else to give it to you. Please understand, as CEO(president), he only is a figure, someone to take the fall if all goes right or wrong. The board of directors(congress) pass the laws, repeal the laws. So instead of blaming the president who can only sign it into law, blame those that have power to pass them. When it is time to vote, look at your representatives records. See what their platforms are. If they don’t align with your ideals, don’t vote, but by no means blame someone who has limited power to act on their own. My prayer for after this election is that personal responsibility makes it way back into our culture. That people stop blaming politicians for their lives and all that is wrong. That people start believing that change only happens in conjunction the thought that you don’t have to settle for less and hard work does make a difference. That no matter what, never giving up is only option we have. Mostly importantly, I pray that the vulgarity and disdain shown towards our president in chief, no matter who he is stops. We are sending the wrong message to our children and those abroad. With this being said. Please vote, or shutup…

“I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights….
